JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction and supervision of the Recreation Director, this position provides attendant services for City facilities. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Monitors scheduled programs at the facility and performs a wide variety of manual tasks in conjunction with cleaning and maintaining the facilities. Plans, organizes, and/or promotes interest in recreational activities such as arts, crafts, sports, games, and hobbies. Greets new arrivals to activities, introducing them to other participants, explaining facility rules, and encouraging their participation. Receives and helps the general public by answering inquiries and giving out information. Explains principles, techniques, City policies and/or safety procedures to participants in recreational activities and/or using recreational facilities. Explains rates and types of recreational services offered. Completes work orders for functions, including set up and tear down of tables and chairs in rooms as required by the specific function taking place. Receives and processes payments for City recreational services. Monitors and replenishes cleaning supplies in facilities for special events as needed and/or assists in other City facilities as required. Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships with City officials and employees, the general public, and representatives of other agencies. Opens and closes facilities as required by scheduled events. Ensures that buildings are locked and secured, and documents these activities daily. Performs other related job duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS AND KSA'S
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent; one (1) year of experience in in customer service, cash handling and the ability to complete routine documents accurately; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Special Qualifications:
Valid Florida Driver's License with acceptable driving record. Valid CPR Certification with Automated External Defibrillator (AED) endorsement is preferred. Valid First Aid Certification is preferred. Must be able to work a flexible schedule that may include weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of the methods, procedures and policies in regard to facility maintenance. Knowledge of Microsoft Office processing platform. Knowledge and understanding of any occupational hazards and adheres to any safety precautions inherent in performing the essential functions of the work. Skill in effective communication both verbally and in writing. Skill in the use of computers and applicable software programs. Ability to understand and interpret complex written and oral instructions. Ability to operate various office equipment such as, but not limited to, computer, copier, multi-line telephone. Ability to exert light to moderate physical effort in work typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of objects and materials weighing between 25-50 pounds. Ability to maintain cooperative and effective relationships with personnel, as well as any external entities with whom the position interacts. Ability to maintain high standards of accuracy in performing duties and responsibilities. Ability to attend and remain at work regularly and adheres to policies and procedures regarding absenteeism and tardiness. Ability to exhibit an enthusiastic, self-reliant and self-starting approach to meet job responsibilities and accountabilities. Ability to strive to anticipate work to be accomplished and initiates appropriate and acceptable action for the completion of work with a minimum of supervision and instruction. Ability to deal tactfully and courteously with the public and maintain composure in difficult and/or stressful situations. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The work is medium work, which requires exerting up to exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Requires standing or sitting for sustained periods of time; walking or moving from one work site to another; manual dexterity to pick, pinch, type, or otherwise work primarily with fingers; mental acuity including the ability to make rational decisions through sound logic and deductive processes; hearing to receive detailed information and to make the discrimination in sound; and the ability to express ideas by means of the spoken word and have close visual acuity. Additionally, the following physical abilities may be required: Balancing:
Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling while walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces. The amount of balancing exceeds that needed for ordinary locomotion and maintenance of body equilibrium. Climbing:
Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized. Crouching:
Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine. Kneeling:
Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees. Lifting:
Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. Occurs to a considerable degree and requires substantial use of upper extremities and back muscles. Reaching:
Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. Repetitive Motion:
Substantial movements (motions) of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers.
