Summary
Assist in wall operations, wall maintenance and maintain a safe and fun climbing environment. Assist with the administrative tasks and special events at the Climbing Wall.

Essential Functions
Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive rapport with patrons and coworkers.
Open Climbing Wall, monitor activities, administer belay and orientation tests, and close the Climbing Wall.
Maintain a safe and positive Climbing Wall operation and identify and correct any unsafe actions concerning Climbing Wall patrons.
Inspect Climbing Wall equipment as assigned, accurately report equipment condition on the inspection sheets, and report any equipment issues to Climbing Wall administration.
Participate in periodic route-setting sessions with other Climbing Wall staff members.
Operate various computer applications.
Enforce rules and regulations of the Climbing Wall.
Adhere to all policies and procedures as outlined in Recreation and Wellness Student Employee Manual.
Promote and support the mission of the Department of Recreation and Wellness.
Additional Responsibilities
Attend mandatory staff meetings and training.
Participate in Student Development and Leadership Program.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
Possess and maintain current CPR, First Aid and AED certifications.
Able to teach belay and wall orientation classes (knot tying, correct belay technique, etc.).
Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication, professional mannerisms, and a friendly demeanor.
Work independently and in a team.
