Park Attendant Thomson Causeway Recreation Area (Seasonal, On‑Site Position)

We are seeking a responsible and personable Park Attendant to staff the entrance station and assist visitors at the Thomson Causeway Recreation Area, a scenic campground along the Mississippi River in Thomson, IL. This position involves working outdoors, living on‑site in your own self‑contained RV (RV site and utilities provided) Key Responsibilities Staff the campground entrance station during scheduled hours: Monday•

Holidays:

 9 am• 12 pm and 4 pm• 8 pm Collect and account for camping fees and pass sales using government‑issued equipment and software. Register campers, check them in/out, and issue receipts and passes. Conduct campground rounds (minimum 4 per day) to monitor safety, cleanliness, and compliance with park rules. Provide courteous, accurate information about campground policies, local features, and visitor guidelines. Maintain the entrance station and nearby grounds in a clean and orderly condition. Report issues such as vandalism, maintenance needs, or emergencies to Corps Rangers. Complete daily log sheets and required reports. Requirements Must live on‑site for the full performance season (RV site provided). Provide a self‑contained, factory‑built RV in good condition. Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle. Must pass a background check and E‑Verify employment eligibility verification. Capability to work outdoors in varied weather, stand for long periods, and perform light physical tasks (e.g., lifting up to 40 lbs). Professional, courteous demeanor with strong communication and customer‑service skills. Must provide proof of required insurance coverage before starting. Ability to attend mandatory pre‑season training and orientation at the Thomson Ranger Office (April 28-30, 2026, 9 AM-4 PM). Preferred Prior experience in campground management, fee collection, or parks/recreation services.
