Job Description
Overview Assists the Golf Professional Staff in managing the daily golf shop operations, including player tracking, merchandising, tournaments and special events and office administration. Experience Required Personable, approachable and socially engaging. High degree of professionalism and commitment to excellence and high standards. Detail-oriented and able to prioritize workload, managing multiple tasks simultaneously with limited supervision. Versatility, flexibility and a willingness to work a combination of weekends and weekdays. Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast paced working environment. Ability to integrate quickly with a team to accomplish operational goals. Ability to safely drive golf carts and utility vehicles, clean and clear driving record. Creativity in merchandising, organizing. One (1) year of customer service experience, preferably in the hospitality or retail industry. Demonstrate effective communication skills, both oral and written, and possess basic math and literacy skills to comprehend and implement golf rules, regulations and policies. Must have an understanding and knowledge of golf, willingness to learn/become familiar with activities including equipment, clothing, shoes and golf terminology. Excellent personal appearance and hygiene habits.
Physically fit:
to stand, bend, lift and maneuver items throughout a standard workday. Essential Responsibilities Provide excellent customer service to members/guests, internal staff team members and ensure satisfaction through prompt, efficient and friendly service. Complies and enforces operating policies, procedures and training for areas of assigned responsibility, including POS procedures, customer service training, work schedules, slow play guidelines, etc. Implements and monitors daily tee sheets to increase utilization. Responds to and resolves inquiries, questions and complaints from members/guests regarding policies and procedures, course conditions, speed of play, customer service, etc., and refers to the Director of Golf as necessary. Serve as course Marshall, monitoring the schedule and pace of play. Work at times as Driving Range or Golf Cart Attendant as required during rush/peak periods/events. Keep the Golf Shop neat and clean, inside and outside. Promotes a clean, safe and healthy work environment for members, guests and employees. Promptly address critical safety issues and reports all concerns to Director of Golf. Performs other related duties as assigned.
