Seasonal Outdoor Pool Desk/Concession Attendant - LS YMCA

The Lampeter-Strasburg YMCA is seeking friendly and dependable Outdoor Pool Desk Attendants to help create a welcoming and organized experience for members and guests at our outdoor pool. In this role, you'll greet visitors, assist with check-ins, answer questions, and help ensure a smooth and enjoyable pool experience for everyone. We're looking for individuals who are reliable, customer-focused, and enjoy working in a team-oriented, outdoor environment.

Schedule Seasonal position:

Summer 2026 Shifts available between 11:45 AM - 7:00 PM This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys interacting with people, working outdoors, and being part of a fun and active summer environment. Strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and dependability are key to helping create an outstanding experience for all pool guests.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Inform customers of all aspects of the YMCA via phone or in person or be instrumental in ensuring customer gets information from correct person Resolve problems and concerns for members and staff in a positive and professional manner Ask every customer for a membership card or State ID Accept and accurately enter receipt information in computer Correctly register program participants using computer system Prepare and be responsible for daily cash shift closing and follow shift change procedures Open-Close desk area and the building depending on shift Follow guidelines for guest procedures Maintain cleanliness of desk area at all times Must be knowledgeable in emergency procedures in case of fire or injury Assist in general cleaning tasks as assigned Help with other tasks as assigned for the good of the

QUALIFICATIONS

Must be at least 18 years old Proficient computer skills Must have strong communication skills in person and over the phone Bi-lingual English/Spanish ability is a plus Previous experience in service-oriented or sales environment preferred Ability to work calmly under all conditions Use independent initiative and thinking Work well in a team setting

WORK ENVIRONMENTPHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use a computer for extended periods of time and be able to communicate using a computer and phone. The employee frequently is required to sit and reach, and must be able to move around the work environment. The employee may have to complete a job where repetitive motions are required. Employee must be able to communicate effectively by speaking and listening. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
