Job Description

Performs a variety of parks, recreation and special event activities; assists with special events, assists with programs, and performs light maintenance and custodial duties, including cleaning restrooms and parks, setting up equipment and supplies, and performing set-up and takedown of events. This is a part-time, temporary position. Provides on-site assistance during special events including but not limited to specific vendor procedures, equipment setup and breakdown, and monitoring event attendees. Opens and/or closes outdoor facilities Performs general cleaning activities within the City parks including regular trash removal and litter patrol. Works outdoors in all weather conditions. Must be willing to work nights, weekends, holidays and irregular hours. Helps set-up and take down at special events Assists with facility and/or park preparation for special events Other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Customer service skills Must be able to work safely under all tasks assigned Must possess a valid South Carolina driver's license Some experience in parks, recreation and special events is desirable Ability to work as an effective team member Ability to carry out basic oral and written instructions Good communication skills to work effectively with staff and the public
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
High School graduate or GED requires possession of a valid S.C. driver's license Pay rate is $15 per hour.
