Non-exempt Description:
Under the direction of the CRC Operations Supervisor, provides basic childcare service to children of patrons at the Clyde Recreation Center.
Duties:
Receive children from patrons, collect fees, and is responsible for the health and safety of the children while in the care of the CRC. May check patrons in at the Front Desk, make Center passes, and collect fees. Observe and monitor children's play activities. May read to children, teach, and assist them with simple crafts. Organize, lead, and participate in recreational activities, such as games and songs. Clean, organize, sanitize, store toys, play equipment, and materials to ensure order in activity areas. Use PA and pager systems to contact parents in case of child's illness, injury, behavioral issues, or need for diaper change. Keep children contained to the childcare area. Ensure children are released to the correct parent or guardian. All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Must be at least 16 years of age or older. Must have experience caring for children. Childcare licensing or certifications preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Must be patient and kind with children. Must be courteous and professional and be able to greet the public with the same courtesy. Must be able to operate a computer, perform basic software functions, and enter data accurately. Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to walk, stand, sit, stoop, and kneel for extended periods of time, also able to lift up to 35 pounds.
