Job Description
The City of Roanoke is seeking a Front Desk Attendant to perform responsible work serving as the primary point of contact for patrons at the Eureka Recreation Center. This position plays a key role in creating a welcoming and customer-focused environment while supporting daily facility operations. Responsibilities include greeting visitors, providing information about programs, activities, and facility usage, and assisting with registrations, reservations, and general inquiries. The Front Desk Attendant will process payments, issue receipts, maintain accurate records, and may assist with scheduling facility rentals. This position also supports communication between patrons and staff, ensuring a high level of customer service and responsiveness to community needs. The position requires strong interpersonal and organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Must have the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with patrons and staff and communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Basic computer skills and experience handling cash transactions are preferred. Minimum requirements include any combination of education and experience equivalent to high school graduation and some experience in customer service, office support, or a related field. A valid driver's permit issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia is preferred. Hours will vary based on facility operations and may include days, evenings, and weekends. Minimum requirements include any combination of education and experience equivalent to high school graduation and one year experience in a day-care or after-school setting. Certifications required upon request -ARC Standard First Aid and CPR.
