Job Description
Reinvent Your Day Outdoors MetroLagoons transforms everyday life into a vacation. With four resort-style lagoons across Florida, guests enjoy thrilling water adventures, swim-up bars, cabanas, and community events—creating spaces where families connect, friends celebrate, and every visit feels like a sun-soaked escape filled with fun, relaxation, and unforgettable memories. MetroLagoons is in the process of opening our newest lagoon at Seaire in Parrish, FL! We are looking for a hands-on leader to help bring the pool online as well as to manage the day-to-day activities of the lagoon as we become fully functional. The most qualified people will have pool maintenance and treatment experience in addition to strong leadership skills.
The Role:
The Water Quality Manager reports to the General Manager and Director of Water Quality and is responsible for day-to-day oversight of all water quality operations at Seaire Lagoon. Initially you will spend your time assisting in the installation of the pool, the operating systems, the surrounding beach and deck areas, and building your team. You'll manage people, systems, vendors, and resources — making real-time decisions in the field to ensure water quality, safety, and compliance. Most of the workday is spent on site and in the water , not behind a desk. Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management Lead and supervise the water quality team responsible for lagoon cleanliness and safety Make daily labor and expense decisions Train, coach, and mentor team members Monitor performance, provide feedback, and conduct evaluations Address performance issues consistently and professionally, including discipline when needed Ensure all team members maintain required licenses and certifications Water Quality & Systems Maintain lagoon water chemistry, sanitation, flow, and filtration to required standards Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on pumps, filters, circulation systems, feeders, and sanitation equipment Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules (skimming, brushing, vacuuming, automated systems, etc.) Ensure compliance with manufacturer guidelines and all local, state, and federal regulations Maintain accurate preventative maintenance logs, procedures, and checklists Operations & Inventory Manage monthly inventory of chemicals, supplies, and equipment Order all lagoon-related supplies and materials Coordinate and work with vendors involved in lagoon cleaning and maintenance Supervise non-water-related maintenance projects as assigned Field Oversight Inspect operations daily and address issues in real time Monitor key metrics and resolve problems directly in the field Serve as a visible leader in the lagoon environment What We're Looking For High school diploma or equivalent required Associate's or Bachelor's degree (or degree-seeking) preferred 3-4+ years of experience in water quality, pool, aquatic, or related operations Strong understanding of water chemistry, filtration, and sanitation systems Comfortable working in the water and outdoors daily Able to swim and work in the lagoon for extended periods Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for long periods Strong communication and leadership skills Organized, efficient, and able to manage multiple priorities Professional demeanor and appearance Ability to pass required water certification within first 90 days CPO or similar certification preferred Candidates must be able to pass a drug/background screening Schedule & Availability 8-10 hour shifts, 5 days per week Morning and evening shifts Evenings, weekends, and holidays required Both weekend days required during peak season Benefits Fully paid health insurance (Full-Time) Dental and vision insurance Life insurance 401(k) Paid time off Employee Discount Program, including Lagoon entry, F&B/Merchandise discounts, and more!
