Aquatic Director

The Aquatics Director is responsible for the leadership, development, and daily operations of the YMCA aquatics department. This role ensures a safe, engaging, and high-quality aquatic environment for members and program participants. The Aquatics Director oversees lifeguard staff, swim lessons, aquatic fitness, and swim team coordination while promoting water safety and expanding community access to aquatic programming. This position plays a key role in advancing the YMCA's mission of strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.

Qualifications:

• Lifeguard certification (YMCA, Red Cross, or equivalent)
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification
• Experience supervising staff and managing schedules
• Experience with swim lessons, aquatic programming, or lifeguarding operations
• Strong communication, leadership, and customer service skills
• Knowledge of pool operations and water chemistry preferred
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed

Desired Certifications:

• Lifeguard certified (or willing to obtain) and ready to become a Lifeguard Instructor and Swim Lesson Instructor
