Aquatics Director Are you an experienced leader with a passion for aquatics, safety, and community impact? Do you enjoy building programs, supporting staff, and creating a welcoming environment for swimmers of all ages? If so, the Haverhill YMCA may be the perfect opportunity for you! The YMCA of the North Shore is seeking an Aquatics Director to oversee aquatics operations at the Haverhill YMCA, including one indoor pool and a seasonal camp waterfront. This role is responsible for leading swim lessons, recreational aquatics programming, staff supervision, and day-to-day pool operations while ensuring a safe and positive experience for all participants. The Aquatics Director will work closely with members, families, staff, and branch leadership to continue growing aquatics programming and strengthening community engagement. What You'll Do Oversee daily operations of the indoor pool and seasonal camp waterfront Recruit, train, schedule, and support lifeguards and swim instructors Lead swim lesson and recreational aquatics programming for all ages Ensure safety standards, certifications, and risk management procedures are maintained Build positive relationships with members, families, and program participants Support program growth, member retention, and community engagement Assist with scheduling, administrative tasks, and general aquatics operations What We're Looking For Previous aquatics leadership or supervisory experience Experience working in aquatics, swim lessons, or pool operations Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills Ability to respond appropriately in emergency situations Passion for creating a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment Current aquatics certifications preferred (lifeguarding, CPR/AED, swim instruction, etc.) Why Work at the Y? Qualifications Current certifications in Lifeguard/Swim Instructor, Pro CPR, First Aid, and Oxygen, or willing to obtain Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in swim skills in accordance with YMCA standards and have a strong foundation in stroke mechanics A Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive leadership and oversight of an aquatics center.
