Overview The General Manager partners with senior leaders to align club priorities with the organization's mission, vision, and goals. They lead by example, collaborating with various teams, holding staff accountable, and ensuring exceptional member experiences. Success in this role means keeping the club clean, functional, and friendly while creating an environment where employees and members thrive. Compensation & Benefits Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP): As an employee-owner, you'll earn shares in the company at no cost to you, building long-term wealth as the company grows.
Base Salary Range:
$55,000
  • $60,000 annually (dependent on experience and qualifications)
Additional Earning Potential:
Eligible for monthly commission and bonus opportunities, based on performance

Core Responsibilities Operational Excellence Lead day-to-day club operations, ensuring a clean, functional, and friendly environment at all times. Partner with the operations, IT and maintenance teams to proactively address and resolve facility issues. Ensure all company policies, procedures, and standards are consistently met. Manage scheduling, payroll, and labor budgets to operate efficiently. Hold staff accountable to performance standards and behaviors that reflect our values. Leadership & Staff Development Recruit, hire, and onboard a high-performing team successfully. Provide ongoing coaching, training, and development to staff and Personal Trainers. Foster a culture of engagement, accountability, and fun that drives employee retention. Lead by example — visible, approachable, and actively involved in the daily member and employee experience. Revenue Growth & Member Retention Drive membership sales and retention through exceptional service and consistent follow-up practices. Be the fitness expert in the club, develop Personal Trainers to grow client bases and deliver measurable results. Create and oversee programming that builds member engagement and loyalty. Actively manage KPIs, including membership growth, personal training revenue, and member satisfaction scores. Build strong relationships with members, ensuring needs are met and feedback is addressed quickly. Community & Culture Represent the club within the local community, building partnerships and awareness. Promote a culture of inclusivity, motivation, and accountability that aligns with our mission. Inspire employees and members by celebrating milestones and results.
What Success Looks Like:
Consistently meets or exceeds membership and personal training performance goals. Builds and retains an engaged, high-performing team through effective leadership and development. Maintains a club environment that reflects the brand promise of being clean, functional, and friendly . Drives high member satisfaction, positive feedback, and long-term loyalty. Leads a club that is recognized as a top-tier fitness destination in the St. Louis region for service, culture, and results. Education & Experience Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Prior leadership or management experience. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree. One to two years of personal training experience. Management experience in the fitness, retail, or service industry. Certifications Holds one or more nationally accredited personal training certifications, or is able to obtain certification within 90 days of hire. CPR/AED certified, or able to obtain certification within 30 days of hire. Physical Requirements Must be able to lift or move up to 50 lbs. Daily physical activity includes lifting weights, squatting, bending, reaching, spotting, and standing for prolonged periods of time. Why You'll Love Working for
