Salary Range:

April 27, 2026 Responsibilities Manages and coordinates the daily operations of all 10 Community Centers across the city. Develops, coordinates and implements a comprehensive program of recreation and events based upon identified needs of the community. Plans, assigns, supervises, coordinates, and reviews the work of recreation personnel using effective methods of evaluation, leadership, and instruction. Participates in the selection, training, placement, promotion, safety, appraisal, and discipline of assigned personnel. Creates and distributes staff schedules. Advertises for open positions and interviews candidates. Conducts new-hire orientation and coordinates staff training. Prepares and monitors the annual operating budget for the Centers. Maintains participation statistics for the purpose of supporting long range planning and budgeting. Prepares revenue/expense reports to track expenditures and income. Establishes fees and charges to meet revenue goal and reports on activities and services. Collaborates with facility maintenance staff to assure proper cleaning, maintenance and safety at the Community Centers. Develops and implements policies and procedures for consistent operations and customer service of the Community Centers. Coordinates periodic safety inspection of community centers, which includes all equipment and supplies related to area of responsibility. Plans and supervises the work of subordinates responsible for programming and facility management. This subordinate staff is responsible for all operations of the community centers. Oversees the department's cost-recovery policy for all community centers. Maintains a current working knowledge of a variety of indoor and outdoor events and recreational activities, and knowledge of facilities and equipment needed for an operation or program. Performs related duties as required. QualificationsREQUIRES
bachelor's degree in Recreation Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, Physical Education, Exercise Sports Science, Sports Management, Fine Arts, or Wildlife Education and three (3) years of experience overseeing or coordinating community recreational programs and/or facilities; OR High school graduation and seven (7) years of experience in recreation management, community programming, sports management, wildlife management, art programming, or therapeutic recreation including three (3) years of managing/overseeing recreational programs. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen as prescribed by the City.
