Job Description

We provide the highest quality swim instruction to our community! Our program aims to build confidence and develops safety skills in a student-centered environment. We are committed to training our staff to teach swim lessons, giving them the tools they need to be successful. This is a diverse, inclusive and supportive workplace. Lone Mountain Gymnastics & Swim School is looking for a motivated, positive and enthusiastic Aquatics Director to help lead our fun team and learn-to-swim program. You will be teaching our swim curriculum to children ages 6 months-12 years old, while creating a fun and inviting atmosphere for families while encouraging children to participate, attempt new skills and have fun! As an Aquatics Director you are responsible for all things aquatic. You will lead and train our swim teachers, utilizing our child-centered procedures and methods. You will be an integral part of our team, having an impact on staff and class management, growth and development of the team, safety and community outreach. You should be someone who has a passion for the water and working with children while also being highly organized, dependable and open to feedback. You will be responsible for working with Owners and Front Office team to create and maintain program and class schedules and student enrollment decisions that best serve the business, program and participants. As an Aquatics Director, you are also responsible for the cleanliness and operations to maintain a safe and healthy pool environment for our staff and students every day. You will be responsible for helping maintain and ensure a clean and fully functioning aquatics area within the facility, including viewing area, pool and pool deck. You should be someone who has a passion for cleanliness and water quality with high attention to detail and knowledge of a commercial pool environment. The Aquatics Director also works as an instructor and teaches lessons on a regular basis. Notably, Lone Mountain's programs create a split shift (morning and afternoon/evening) that requires a Director's physical presence in a full-time capacity. As a swim instructor you are responsible for the safety of each class and teaching swim skills to students using our curriculum. You will work to build water confidence within your students, encouraging each student to rise to the best of their abilities. You can expect to be regularly communicating with students and fellow staff members. We have a fun and rewarding work environment with a great atmosphere for someone who loves pool facilities and being around people. Starting wage is negotiable with prior experience. This is a full-time position that requires ability to also problem solve as needed on an on-call basis.
Responsibilities:
Manage swim staff members including time off requests, schedules, staffing needs, performance feedback & training Work with Owners to create program schedules and class offerings to effectively maintain a growing and thriving Aquatics branch of the business Handle customer concerns directly related to programming, progression, etc. Help maintain a safe and healthy pool environment by working with Owners, vendors and staff to ensure the quality and integrity of pool equipment, protocols, laws and regulations are met. Maintain all necessary safety/health logs and supplies inventory. Make sure everyone is safe. Care for and respect students while teaching them to swim. Be a team player who is consistently dependable and reliable. Complete required training and be a continual learner. Follow our curriculum and help develop curriculum with a focus on the needs, abilities and comfort of each student. Positions require physical movement and the ability to effectively teach in the water and in a heated pool room. Work to ensure students and families feel welcome and safe; provide excellent customer service Smile and have fun during your entire shift.
Qualifications:
Caring and compassion for children and adults Ability to work in the water for periods of up to 5 hours Strong communication skills Great attitude and willingness to be coached Strong leadership skills to create a fun, positive and safe work environment for aquatics staff Strong ability to problem solve with attention to detail The ability to focus in a fast-paced environment The ability to commit to a consistent work schedule Lifeguard Certification required CPO Certification required Experience maintaining a commercial facility Minimum 2 years experience in managing an aquatics program in a similar setting
