Job Description

The Program Director runs the Gotham Roller Derby Paid Programming for adults and juniors (ages 7-17). This role doesn't require knowledge of the sport itself. You'll work closely with the Program Head Coach.
Responsibilities include:
planning, coordinating and executing all paid programming. This role is supported by key members of our Board of Directors, League Committee Heads, the Paid Programming Head Coach, and volunteer coaches. It's a detail-oriented role for someone who is outgoing, a creative problem solver, and enthusiastic about sports and community. Key Responsibilities Program Planning & Scheduling Develop and maintain a program calendar Negotiate contracts with practice spaces Work with the Head Coach and coaching committee to coordinate coaching staff and practice agendas Current & New Skaters Post, edit and maintain class sign ups Provide customer service to adult skaters and Gotham Juniors' parents Coordinate with marketing committee to advertise sessions Work with Board of Directors and President on ways to grow the program Manage annual skater insurance renewal process Gotham Juniors Programming Work to support and expand Gotham Juniors competitive team Coordinate roster and recruitment with coaching Negotiate and identify scrimmage opportunities with other leagues Qualification Considerations Strong organizational and scheduling skills Experience coaching or instructing adults and/or kids Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities Location Most of this role can be done remotely, however we're looking for someone who is able to be in-person for some of the practices as well as be able to visit potential spaces/venues for events, practices, and scrimmages.
