We prefer someone who has their CPO and WSI. The director must be prepared to take the lead in handling member and staff relations, unexpected issues, and emergencies.
Experience and Skills Required:
Hiring, firing, promoting, demoting, and scheduling members of the pool lifeguard staff two years of experience managing a pool Enforcing JCC Pool Rules and Policies with members in a polite manner, enabling Lifeguards to continue with their primary responsibility of Patron Surveillance and safety. Monitoring and staying within the aquatics budget. Working closely with the other directors to schedule and implement programs, address staff concerns, schedule special events, and address other miscellaneous issues. Taking the lead in adapting to various unexpected conditioning and schedule changes for staff. The Aquatics Director is also responsible for addressing issues that Lifeguards or Head Guards have with any of the aforementioned tasks in a polite professional manner as well as administering write-ups following a failure to comply with verbal warnings. Assisting the front office with any member issues and payments. Perform any necessary maintenance tasks including: Taking chlorine and pH readings and adjusting the chlorine and acid accordingly. Overseeing and assisting in the clean-up of the facility at opening, closing, and during the operational hours of the pool. Responding to members' verbal concerns, phone calls, and emails in a prompt, polite, and responsible manner, displaying exemplary customer service. Informing staff about any pressing staff, maintenance, patron, or other concerns in need of attention. Work on improvements that can be made for each year, assisting in inventorying and ordering or purchasing supplies needed, getting paperwork in order pre/post summer, and conducting and organizing the shutdown of the pool for yearly pool cleaning.
