Job Description

Overview The Lewis JCC (formerly JCC Rockland) is seeking a self-motivated, passionate team player to join us as our Assistant Fitness Manager. If you possess a true dedication to helping others achieve their health and wellness goals, this leadership role offers an incredible opportunity to make a lasting impact. In this role, you will work in close partnership with the Fitness Manager to ensure that all operations at the Russin Fitness & Wellness Center run optimally. Your core focus will center on onboarding new members, overseeing equipment maintenance, and managing team scheduling. Additionally, you will stay connected to the floor by conducting personal training sessions and/or teaching group exercise classes.
Schedule & Compensation Hours:
11 am - 5 pm
Core Expectation:
Maintain 10 hours per week dedicated to personal training/group fitness classes, alongside scheduled shifts and operational management tasks.

Separate compensation from scheduled shifts.

Job Program Design :
Develop and implement customized personal training programs/group fitness classes tailored to the diverse needs and wellness goals of our members.
Member Engagement:
Proactively assist, guide, and support members with proper fitness equipment usage to promote a safe, welcoming environment.
Growth:
Help us expand our Personal Training, Pilates, and Nutrition programs through member engagement and working with other managers.
Facility Operations:
Help maintain a clean, pristine, and organized fitness floor and studio space.
Service Excellence:
Demonstrate the highest standards of customer service, ensuring meaningful and positive interactions with members at all times.
Administrative Oversight :
Exhibit a strong attention to detail with solid administrative and follow-up skills to keep center operations running smoothly.
Minimum Qualifications Certifications:
Current, nationally accredited Personal Training Certification (e.g., NASM, ACE, ACSM, NSCA, AFAA, AAAI/ISSA).
Safety:
Current CPR/AED Interpersonal Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to build relationships and eagerly grow a loyal client base.
Teamwork:
A collaborative mindset with a strong "team-first" attitude.
Pay:
$25.00 - $27.00 per hour
