Job Description

Responsible for the overall management and operation of the Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving program. In addition, responsible for oversight of the year-round, daily operation of the Taylor Natatorium. Ensure compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations. Directs all aspects, areas, and components of an NCAA Division I Swimming and Diving program team. Recruit, train, and support over 50 athletes in the swimming and diving program. Plan and implement multiple training sessions for athletes in the College's facilities. Attract and train qualified student-athletes for the College's program. Coordinate medical and academic support opportunities for athletes with the appropriate support personnel on campus. (40%) Direct all aspects of the operation of the Taylor Natatorium facility. Develop and oversee the budget of the facility, including a staff of student workers. Ensure the safe operation of the facility includes staffing, scheduling, purchase and use of chemicals, and equipment for the pool. Develop and maintain a Lifeguard Handbook and Emergency Action Plan for the facility. Hold in-service training opportunities for lifeguard staff once per semester. (25%) Complete and maintain all required compliance paperwork for the Swimming and Diving program. Form and develop a schedule for the men's and women's teams which factors in both conference and geographic considerations with, and emphasis on, preparing athletes to qualify for the Big East Championships. Prepare a budget and work within the College's established protocols for the purchase and receipt of equipment for the athletes. Plan and execute all travel arrangements for over 50 athletes and staff. Produce required meet results for the
NCAA USA
Swimming Database, as well as the Big East for top times verification. Produce meet results for inclusion on Providence College Swimming and Diving website. Work with media relations to develop, write, edit, and produce annual Swimming and Diving media guide. Manage content and produce statistics for the website. (20%) Operate the pool at the Taylor Natatorium, seven days per week, year-round. Respond to all campus and public inquiries regarding the pool to include programming and recreational use as well as any rental requests. Schedule and maintain communication with both Recreational Sports staff as well as the Athletics Department staff with regard to pool hours, events, competitions, and Athletic Department summer camp use. (10%)
MARGINAL DUTIES
Cultivate and expand the swimming and diving alumni base as an active, vibrant group. Increase donations and increase each program's reserve funds to help foster program growth. Target specific alumni who have means to help the program. Develop donor funded projects which will continue to foster growth. Increase use of social media such as Alumni Facebook Group to encourage classmates and teammates to communicate. Establish an alumni event each season. Establish strategies which cultivate and lead donors to record participant and giving levels in coordination with the athletic fundraising office. (5%) Perform all other duties as may be required. Bachelor's Degree in related field from an accredited institution required Demonstrated expertise with NCAA required software HyTek Meet Manager and it's integration with Colorado Time Systems Electronic Timing equipment and software Significant intercollegiate playing and coaching experience in sport required, preferably in a head coaching position at the Division I level Excellent oral and written communication skills required Lifeguard, First Aid and CPR Certification required
