Description:
Manages and oversees the Cogdell Rehab and Wellness gym. Markets and promotes the gym including fitness and wellness programs, and services. Makes sure that the equipment and machines used are in excellent working condition. Makes sure that the equipment and machines used are in excellent working condition. Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS
High School graduate or equivalent; some college preferred Previous experience in developing fitness or wellness classes highly desired Previous experience in marketing or public relations preferred BLS Certification
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensures that facilities and equipment are clean and safe Manage guest services making sure that customers are safe Resolve problems and complaints quickly at the departmental level Provides individual support or counseling in general wellness or nutrition Conducts needs assessments or surveys to determine interest in, or satisfaction with, wellness and fitness programs, events, or services Develops or coordinates fitness and wellness programs or services; manages outreach activities Implements organization process or policy changes Prepares operational budgets Track cost-containment strategies and programs to evaluate effectiveness and evaluates program effectiveness Maintains wellness and fitness-related schedules, records or reports. Schedules activities for facility use Develop fitness and wellness classes, such as yoga, aerobics, strength training, or aquatics, ensuring a diversity of class offerings Select and supervise contractors, such as event hosts or health, fitness and wellness practitioners Recommend or approve new program or service offerings to promote wellness and fitness, produce revenues, or minimize costs Develop marketing campaigns to promote a healthy lifestyle or participation in fitness or wellness programs Tracks attendance, participation, or performance data related to wellness events Demonstrates proper orientation of fitness equipment, such as resistance machines, cardio machines, free weights and fitness assessment devices Organize and oversee fitness or wellness programs, such as information presentations, blood drives, or training in first aid or cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) Trains employees on environmental awareness, conservation or safety topics Conduct or facilitate training sessions or seminars for wellness and fitness staff Respond to customer, public or media requests about wellness programs or services Interpret insurance data or Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) data to develop programs that address specific needs of target populations; analyze data to inform personnel decisions Use computer skills and software to manage databases, publish newsletters or provide webinars Teach fitness classes to improve strength, flexibility, cardiovascular conditioning or general fitness of participants; teach classes in area of specialization Organize and oversee events such as organized runs or walks Responsible for training staff and acting as a mentor Completes employee performance evaluations in prescribed time frame Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly. Maintains equipment and furniture to keep it in good working condition, including performing the assembly and disassembly of equipment and accessories. Demonstrates an ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations. Maintains a good working relationship both within the department and with other departments. Assists with orientation and in-service training for certified department staff members, participates in guidance and educational programs. Participates in infection prevention and control, departmental equipment training and organizational safety and fire safety programs. Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing Additional languages preferred Strong written and verbal skills
