Hour Work Week Minimum Position Overview:
As the Fitness Director, you play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of the club's personal training department to accomplish our production and service goals. You are expected to be a proactive self-starter, driving the personal training department towards exceptional client results and experiences. Your role is critical in our vision of promoting health, hope, and transformation in the greater Seattle area. This will be accomplished through your effective leadership of our personal training team and our 1-on-1 clients.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Personal production, primarily through your direct involvement in client appointments.
  • Actively train and develop trainers to enhance their sales effectiveness and professional growth.
  • Maintain and enforce high standards for our one-on-one personal training programs.
  • Recruit, hire, and lead a team of personal trainers, ensuring their success and development aligned with our goals.
  • Develop strategic plans to meet and exceed the operational and financial objectives of the club.
  • Lead weekly team meetings to foster a unified direction and open communication.
  • Elevate personal trainers' skills to boost PT department revenue and member satisfaction.
  • Ensure all club facilities are clean, organized, and maintained to the highest standards.
  • Monitor the impact of marketing programs and special promotions on PT services and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Implement necessary training and motivational tactics to achieve desired team performance.
Work Environment:
This role demands a dynamic, fast-paced gym atmosphere where flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends is essential. Your leadership will be characterized by a relentless drive to excel, effective problem-solving, and a strong ability to self-generate and close sales. A high level of empathy, excellent communication skills, and the capacity to engage in strategic prospecting are all crucial.
Requirements:
  • Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to initiate and drive improvements independently.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a personal trainer with a strong background in successfully managing and developing PT departments and teams.
  • Robust leadership skills with a track record of building high-performance teams.
  • Recognized certification in personal training (e.g., NASM, ACE, ACSM).
  • CPR/AED certification.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Extensive leadership experience in the fitness industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or related field.
  • Proficiency with fitness industry software and technology.
