Lead Camp Session Director, Youth Camp Glendale, CA Job Details Seasonal $2,500 a month 1 day ago Qualifications Logistics management Volunteer management Unloading Passenger luggage management Mid-level Full cycle recruiting Managing event budgets Purchasing Budgeting Training Volunteer recruitment Staffing management Volunteer engagement program management Full Job Description Specific Duties and Responsibilities associated with this position are: To head up all logistics, programming and staffing related to their camp week session, in accordance with YMCA Camp Directors manual. Recruit, train, place all staff for the week in accordance with Human Resource staff eligibility clearance. Manage the entire volunteer staff throughout the week of camp, to ensure they are fulfilling their duties. Plan, coordinate all programs during the week and oversee general operations. Supervise all camp details during the week including staff meetings, discipline, health care and documentation. Serve as the liaison between the YMCA staff and the camp staff while at camp. Manage the program budget and purchasing for each week of camp. Manage all money collected from donations, following the proper YMCA procedure for recording and submitting it. Coordinate loading and unloading of luggage and campers on boat/ bus at point of departure and return as well as arriving and leaving camp. Coordinate check-in of campers on departure day, collection of medicine from campers for the week, head lice check, and medical sheet completion. Keep communication with YMCA Camp Program Director in areas of camper numbers and rosters of all those going in/out of camp (including visitors), any discipline, HR concern, injury or other situation resulting in being sent home, and notice of anything out of the ordinary associated with camp week. Communicate with parents prior to, during, and after each camp session regarding logistics, parent questions, and any special situations regarding campers. Serve as head of all immediate safety-related decisions while at camp, upon the consultation of the Camp Program Director as possible. Serve as a mandated reporter for any situations that may arise while at camp, following proper protocol and submitting paperwork back to the YMCA.
