We're opening a brand new Sam's Club in Lathrop, California, and we're looking for a Prepared Food Lead who is member obsessed, hands on, and ready to help build something from the ground up. If you love leading teams, delivering best in class quality and service, and developing people to reach their full potential, this could be the role for you. As a Prepared Food Lead, you'll lead a team of hourly associates to deliver to our members more of what they love, for less. You will model expertise in prepared food and work collaboratively with other team leaders to ensure the total club meets the member's expectations. This is a hands‑on leadership role in a fast‑paced environment with the unique opportunity to help launch and shape a new location from day one.

• Lead and inspire a team of associates in your area to execute the business plan and deliver exceptional member experiences.

• Maintain deep knowledge of fresh operations on the floor and in the backroom, including product specifications, seasonality, and production expectations.
• Ensure your area meets company and regulatory standards for quality, inventory, equipment usage, production, food safety, sanitation, and compliance.
• Train and upskill your team on processes, recipes/specs (as applicable), safe handling, and consistent execution.
• Stay current on new products, processes, and tools—leveraging learning resources and training opportunities to drive continuous improvement.
• Engage with members and build confidence in product selection through service, knowledge, and pride in quality.

• Use digital tools and handheld technology to plan, forecast, and drive sales, improve the shopping experience, and elevate associate engagement.

• Plan for volume and profitability, ensuring appropriate staffing levels and readiness for daily production and service needs.
• Own inventory, ordering, audits, and compliance standards while identifying shrink and preventing loss.
• Ensure equipment and storage systems are in safe working order and operational needs are addressed to avoid disruption.
• Produce, merchandise, and display product according to the merchandise layout plan, with consistency in standards and presentation.

• The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
