LEGO/Coding Summer Camp Lead Instructor TechKnowHow San Francisco, CA Job Details Temporary | Full-time $21 - $23 an hour 11 hours ago Qualifications Classroom management Mid-level Working with children Classroom experience Classroom Teaching Leadership Communication skills Teaching Camp Full Job Description Responsibilities TechKnowHow is looking for charismatic and engaging lead instructors to guide students in weekly LEGO or Minecraft camps in San Francisco this summer. As a leader in tech and Lego camps for over 30 years, we know how to create great experiences for both our campers and our staff. We'll train you in all the skills you will need, including the curriculum content, teaching in a camp setting, lead team-building activities, and managing the kids. If you enjoy both tech and LEGO or simply enjoy working with kids and helping them learn, then this position is perfect for you. The experience is so rewarding, many of our staff members return year after year! Each camp has a minimum of 2 teachers, and a maximum of 20 students. You can focus on LEGO, coding, or Minecraft. Campers are ages 5-13.
  • We DO NOT provide housing.
  • We are seeking Lead Instructors (Camp Counselors).
  • General hours are 8-4, Monday-Friday.
  • Dates of employement range within June 15 and end August 7.
  • Ideally, instructors should be able to work at lease 4 weeks, but we are flexible in that regard.
  • We provide training which covers the projects and classroom management skills.
Most of our summer instructors reported receiving internships or jobs at tech-related companies while in or after graduating college with firms including Google, Palo Alto Networks, Intuitive Surgical Robotics, as well as teaching positions at schools. Qualifications Experience leading instruction for groups of children or experience assisting an instructor (in a camp, classroom, or other instructional settings). Driven to help all children excel and succeed in their learning goals Previous experience with subject matter preferred Desired skills Experience working with kids in a group setting (this is required) Excellent communication skills, ability to teach curriculum, professional. Responsible and punctual Enthusiastic and patient personality to effectively engage and motivate children with a wide range of ages and abilities Comfortable communicating with parents in a friendly and professional matter to address a variety of topics
