This role is perfect for an energetic and detail-oriented culinary professional eager to lead food service efforts, manage a camp kitchen staff, and ensure exceptional dining experiences for our campers and staff. As a leader of the Ross Point camp kitchen, you will coordinate food preparation, maintain high standards of food safety, and foster a positive team atmosphere that promotes creativity and excellence. Your leadership will directly impact the enjoyment and well-being of everyone in our camp community. Responsibilities Lead and supervise daily kitchen operations when the Kitchen Director is not present, including food preparation, cooking, and serving to ensure timely delivery of meals. Help manage food inventory control, including preperations for ordering supplies, monitoring stock levels, and minimizing waste through efficient food management practices. Assist in menu planning in collaboration with dietary requirements and preferences, ensuring variety and nutritional balance. Enforce food safety standards and sanitation protocols to maintain compliance with health regulations. Coordinate with catering services for special events or large group meals, ensuring high-quality presentation and service. Supervise and train kitchen staff in a welcoming and humble attitude, providing guidance and support to foster teamwork and professional growth. Help manage shift schedules, assign tasks effectively, and oversee your shift's overall kitchen workflow to maximize productivity. Experience Experience in food production within a kitchen environment, preferably in camping, banquet, catering, or similar style dining experience. Demonstrated supervising experience in a culinary setting, with a strong yet positive leadership skills to motivate teams. Knowledge of food safety practices, inventory management, and kitchen operations. Experience and desire to show hospitality and create good customer service to all camp guests and staff. We are looking for a lead cook available to cook evening dinners at camp 4 nights a week.
Pay:
$17.75 - $21.50 per hour
