Join the WSSRA Summer Camp Team! About Us West Suburban Special Recreation Association (WSSRA) is dedicated to delivering engaging recreation programming for children and adults with physical, intellectual, and other disabilities. The Opportunity We're gearing up for an exciting summer camp season across multiple locations including Elmwood Park, Northlake, Oak Park, Forest Park, and Berwyn. Our camps offer a classic summer experience — think arts and crafts, sports, swimming, campfires, and more. If you've spent time at a summer camp before (or even just seen one in a movie), you'll feel right at home.

Full-day and half-day shifts availableCompensation:
Starting at $15.00/hr (final rate determined by experience and education) What You'll Be Doing As a member of our camp staff, your role is to actively engage participants with disabilities in all aspects of the WSSRA Summer Day Camp experience.Responsibilities include:
Attending all required training sessions and reporting to your assigned camp site(s) Jumping in and encouraging campers to take part in every activity Providing assistance with daily living needs such as toileting, feeding, dressing, transfers, and wheelchair support Keeping an eye on the overall safety and well-being of all participants as part of WSSRA's risk management efforts Collaborating with the Site Supervisor on activity setup, execution, and cleanup Respecting and maintaining participant confidentiality at all times Arranging your own transportation to and from camp Taking on additional tasks as needed What We're Looking For At least 16 years of age A genuine, positive attitude when working with individuals who have disabilities Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently under supervisor guidance An enthusiastic team player who's eager to learn and get involved Prior experience supporting individuals with disabilities is a plus but not requiredJob Types:
