Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Patient Care Tech / Activities Lead dedicated to supporting autism clients through engaging group and camp sessions. In this vital role, you will provide compassionate patient care, facilitate therapeutic activities, and lead behavioral interventions to promote positive development and social engagement. Responsibilities Assist with patient monitoring, observation, and behavioral management during group and camp sessions to ensure safety and engagement. Lead and coordinate therapeutic activities tailored to the needs of individuals with autism, fostering social skills and independence. Support clinical staff with therapy services and documentation in accordance with medical protocols. Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and session logs to track client development and behavioral responses. Implement crisis intervention techniques when necessary, ensuring a calm and safe environment for all participants. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including nursing, psychiatry, and behavioral health specialists to optimize care plans. Provide compassionate patient care by addressing individual needs, promoting positive interactions, and encouraging participation in activities. Experience & Expectations Prior experience as 1:1 tech, ABA, classroom assistant, or other direct care is preferred Prior experience managing groups or teams is preferred. Must be flexible to work collaboratively with admin and clinical staff Do NOT apply if you only want to do direct client care - there will be paperwork, cleaning, organizing, client outreach, and other job / task requirements. This is a new position and we need someone flexible with a positive attitude that is willing to do all aspects of the job. Must have a solid history of reliable attendance. This requires someone who is available, dependable, with good initiative and follow-through. Can grow into a lead position, but must establish excellence before any promotion may be considered. Skills Strong understanding of psychiatric care, behavior management, and crisis intervention strategies. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in acute care settings such as hospitals or corrections facilities. Knowledge of medical terminology, patient observation techniques, and records management. Ability to monitor patients effectively while maintaining safety protocols during group activities or camp sessions. Familiarity with behavioral health principles and medication administration procedures. Excellent communication skills to collaborate with healthcare teams and engage clients positively. Energetic attitude combined with patience, empathy, and a commitment to fostering inclusive environments for individuals with autism.
