The Part-Time Group Leader works 16 hours per week and assists in creating a safe, fun, and engaging environment for all campers.

Schedule Camp dates:

Monday, June 8 - Thursday, July 24, 2025

Hours:

7:45 AM - 3:45 PM, Mondays and Wednesdays Pre-camp training required the week of June 1-6 (dates and times TBD) Must attend weekly staff meetings (time TBD) Qualifications Love working with kids Demonstrated experience working with children Ability to teach and lead a variety of recreational activities Excellent character, integrity, and adaptability Ability to communicate and work with a variety of ages and skill levels Desire and ability to work in a cooperative, team-oriented atmosphere Enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience, and self-control Class E Driver's License strongly preferred Must be approved through the Family Care Safety Registry Must pass a Missouri State background check Must complete a Health Screening and TB test prior to start of employment Responsibilities Maintain a positive, fun, and engaging demeanor throughout the day Follow Camper Safety protocols: camper sign-in/sign-out, van transportation, allergies, field trips, etc. Plan and lead inclusive camp activities—games, crafts, sports, and field trips—that engage campers of all abilities and interests Take responsibility for the health, well-being, and happiness of campers Set a positive example in cleanliness, punctuality, clean-up chores, rules, Safe Space, and sportsmanship Observe camper behavior; enforce safety regulations and emergency procedures; apply appropriate behavior management techniques Build rapport with each camper by learning their individual interests and providing consistent emotional support and encouragement Work collaboratively with Group Leader(s) and Junior Leaders, providing coaching and constructive feedback as directed Communicate effectively and professionally with campers, staff, and families Assist in cleaning up after activities Refrain from personal cell phone, laptop, or device use while with campers unless for camp-related purposes Report accidents and incidents to the Group Leader and Youth Programs Leader Other duties as assigned
