Job Description

JBAY LLC, dba Breezy Point Surf Club & Silver Gull Beach Club There is nothing like a day at the beach especially if you happen to work there! JBay, LLC strives to provide extraordinary hospitality for members of its beach clubs in Breezy Point, NY and are looking for variable (seasonal) associates to join our talented teams for the upcoming 2024 Summer Season. The anticipated first day of work will be in June 2026 and the last day is estimated to be in August 2026. This position is only available at the Breezy Point Surf Club.
Day Camp Lead Summary :
As a Day Camp Lead you will assist the camp supervisor of the program, including but not limited to program development and execution, staff training, scheduling and performance, safety and security procedure execution and any related administrative tasks Responsibilities Assist in the development and implementation of camp program for campers aged 3 and above with a progression of activities within the framework of individual and group interests and abilities Assist in leading activities either directly to campers and / or by training camp counselors Assist to train, supervise and schedule seasonal staff based on camper enrollment and program requirements. Apply youth development principles in working with counselors and campers through communication, relationship development, respect for diversity, and involvement and empowerment of youth. Provide the daily care of each camper within your supervision including recognition of personal health needs. Be alert to camper and counselor needs and assist with personal and / or health needs, if necessary Be alerts to facilities and equipment to ensure utilization, proper care, and maintenance is adhered to. Report repairs needed promptly Represent the camp in a positive and professional manner when interacting with parents or others Follow all health, safety standards, security guidelines, policies, and initiatives All other duties as may be assigned Requirements Ability to interact positively with management, associates, and guests Ability to relate to youth and adults in a positive manner, including understanding of the development needs of youth Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to the activity Physical ability to respond appr4opriately to situations requiring first aid. Must be able to assist campers in an emergency (fire, evacuation, illness, or injury) and possess strength and endurance to maintain constant supervision of campers. First Aid Certificate Must be 18 years of age
Education & Experience Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent Bachelor's degree in education or related field from accredited college / university
Experience:
Two (2) years education and / or camp program execution One (1) year supervisory experience preferred Resort / National Park experience Hourly rate of pay $20.00 - $22.00 - based upon experience All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability or protected veteran status.
