Job Description

Duties include planning, organizing, and supervising aquatics operations and staff; developing and administering pools infrastructure program; overseeing upkeep and maintenance of the pools and facilities; participating in budget preparation and administration; and answering questions and providing information to the public regarding aquatic operations and activities. Duties also include coordinating, scheduling and promoting programs and specials events at pools and facilities; and serving as the administrator of the Irving Aquatics Association and the natatorium. Work locations may include the North Lake Natatorium and the Cimarron Family Aquatic Center. A Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, with major coursework in aquatics administration or a closely related field and three years of relevant experience, as well as one year of supervisory or lead experience required. Must possess extensive knowledge in water chemistry and mechanical systems relating to pool operations and have strong public relations and customer service skills. Must also have or be able to obtain within one year of employment the following certifications: Lifeguard Training and Instructor, CPR for Professional Rescuer and First Aid Instructor, Community First Aid and Safety Instructor, AED Instructor and O2 Instructor.
