Summary:
The Director of Events & Engagement is a strategic leadership role responsible for ensuring the successful planning, coordination, and delivery of all LRY events and experiential engagements. This role oversees project teams, cross-department collaboration, vendor partnerships, and execution excellence from concept through post-event analysis. The Director of Events & Engagements serves as the organizational expert in event strategy, logistics, and delivery standards, driving consistent, high-quality experiences across LRY's portfolio. This role requires a visionary problem-solver with strong operational discipline, deep event production knowledge, and the ability to lead teams with clarity and confidence.
Position Responsibilities:
Delivering high-quality, strategically aligned events that reflect LRY's values. Ensure seamless event execution through strong planning, staffing, logistics, and contingency management. Leading, developing, and mentoring event teams to achieve operational excellence. Managing budgets, vendors, and logistics to ensure efficiency and accuracy. Protect the client experience by solving problems quickly, professionally, and decisively. Strengthening cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement. Maintain exemplary relationships with clients. Driving continuous improvement in event processes, client experiences, and team performance. All other duties as assigned.
Strategic Planning & Event Leadership:
Lead the planning and execution of all LRY events, including timelines, staffing plans, risk assessments, and execution checklists. Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure event strategies align with organizational objectives. Conduct risk assessments and prepare backup solutions for potential event disruptions. Serve as the primary authority for event quality standards, escalation resolution, and on-site leadership.
Team Management & Development:
Supervise and develop event teams, including managers, coordinators, and assistants. Set clear expectations, performance goals, and professional development pathways. Delegate responsibilities clearly while maintaining accountability. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching to strengthen team capabilities.
Operational Excellence:
Ensure all events follow operational best practices, safety standards, and logistical precision. Manage event budgets, track expenses, reconcile actuals, and report financial outcomes. Oversee vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and evaluate vendor performance.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner with Creative, Production, Customer Service, Operations, and Marketing teams to ensure cohesive event execution. Facilitate regular planning and review meetings with relevant stakeholders. Lead pre- and post-event briefings to evaluate successes, capture insights, and drive continuous improvement.
Audience & Stakeholder Engagement:
Maintain strong professional relationships with clients, sponsors, and key partners. Represent LRY at industry events and networking opportunities as appropriate. Ensure all events reflect LRY's values and commitment to customer-first, excellence, and solutions-minded execution.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Business, Communications, Hospitality, or related field preferred (equivalent professional experience considered)
Experience:
7 years of progressive experience in event strategy and production. Proven track record managing large-scale, complex events or projects. Ability to handle multiple assignments and accomplish deadlines; ability to pay attention to accuracy and detail while thinking broadly. Demonstrated experience leading teams and multi-disciplinary projects.
Skills:
Exceptional organizational, strategic planning, and project management skills. A strong work ethic, with a results-oriented philosophy. Strong financial acumen (budgeting, tracking, reporting). Superior communication and leadership capabilities. Proficiency with event technologies and project management tools.

Travel:
Ability to travel frequently by car, airplane, or other commercial transportation for client meetings, office visits, and events.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and climb stairs for extended periods during regular workdays, meetings, site visits, and live events. Ability to remain seated or standing at a desk and work on a computer for extended periods of time. Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials, supplies, and equipment up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally with assistance.
