Job Description

The Opportunity in Plain English Cosmic is a locally owned family business on a mission to make Kingman a better place to raise a family.
Cosmic envelops three subsidiaries:
Cosmic Event Rentals, Cosmic GellyBall, and (the most well-known) Cosmic Bounce House. We run a growing portfolio of community events, and we need one talented, driven person to own that portfolio completely. This isn't a role where you show up and execute someone else's checklist. You'll take proven events and make them bigger, launch new ones from the ground up, and help shape a vision that doesn't exist yet. Your income grows as the events grow — and we're offering a base retainer so you can build with confidence, not desperation. If you're the kind of person who gets energized by building things, loves your community, and wants work that actually matters — keep reading. Your Event Portfolio First Friday
  • Run it — it already works
CBHI:
Inside!
  • Build the audience, grow the event GellyBall Events
  • Launch pay-to-play, prove the concept Signature Dinners
  • Shape the vision, build the series First Friday — Run It First Friday is a monthly downtown Kingman event where Cosmic participates as a vendor with pay-to-play bounce houses and GellyBall.
This event is established, well-attended, profitable, and nearly at capacity. It doesn't need to be reinvented — it needs to be executed consistently and excellently, month after month.
Your role here is operational:
confirm details, solidify standard operating procedures, coordinate the equipment and staff, show up, run it well, and collect the revenue. This event is the immediate, reliable income anchor of the portfolio.
Cosmic Bounce House:
Inside! (CBHI) — Build the Audience CBHI is an indoor inflatable play event series held at a rented venue. We've run successful pilot events that proved both community interest and operational feasibility. The event is currently profitable thanks to a favorable venue arrangement, but attendance is well below capacity and community awareness is low. This is where you have the launchpad to grow something. Your job is to develop a real following, increase attendance to the point of frequency growth, build out birthday party packages, cultivate the Sensory Hour program for kids with special needs, and turn CBHI into a recurring fixture in Kingman family life. Learn more at CosmicBounceHouse.com/inside and CosmicBounceHouse.com/sensory. GellyBall Events — Launch Pay-to-Play Cosmic GellyBall (CosmicGellyBall.com) is our teen/adult focused low-impact gel ball shooting experience. We already participate in First Friday with GellyBall, and the next step is launching standalone pay-to-play events — same model as CBHI, same mission: prove the local market so we can justify a dedicated physical space. You'll help identify venues, develop a recurring event structure, and grow a GellyBall community in Kingman from the ground up. Kingman Signature Dinners — Shape the Vision These events don't exist yet — and that's exactly why they're on this list. The rough concept is a series of ticketed, themed dinner events: keynote-style evenings modeled after other local banquets, but with each built around a specific theme that matters to Kingman. Two themes are already on the drawing board. The first is a Visionary-themed evening: Kingman has no shortage of people who want to make this city better — entrepreneurs, educators, nonprofit leaders, creatives, and civic-minded professionals who often feel isolated in their ambitions. This dinner gathers those people, affirms that they are not alone, and shows them that there is a path forward in comradery that doesn't require extreme self-sacrifice or reinventing the wheel. The second theme centers on wholesome recreation — celebrating the importance of active, healthy, community-oriented play for Kingman families and making the case for investing in more of it locally. Both events are envisioned as ticketed dinners with a keynote speaker, produced at a quality level consistent with Chamber of Commerce galas. In fact, one of your first initiatives in this area will be to solidify a partnership with the Kingman Area Chamber of Commerce to co-produce these events. That Chamber relationship has larger implications. There is a genuine opportunity for this role to grow into an ongoing partnership in which Cosmic helps organize the Chamber's recurring events — expanding both the scope of this position and its impact on the broader Kingman community. The format, audience, programming, partnership structure, and even the name itself for these signature events are yours to help develop. This is the most open-ended work in the portfolio — and for the right person, perhaps the most exciting. What You'll Actually Do Planning & Strategy Develop a quarterly event calendar in collaboration with Cosmic leadership Identify and secure venue partnerships for CBHI and GellyBall events Build and iterate event formats, pricing, and packages (including birthday party packages for CBHI) Help conceptualize and develop the Kingman Signature Dinner series, including proposing a co-production partnership with the Kingman Area Chamber of Commerce Community & Vendor Relations Recruit and coordinate local vendors, food providers, and community partners Build relationships with organizations serving children with special needs for CBHI Sensory Hour Engage homeschool networks, youth organizations, churches, and civic groups to drive attendance Connect with local entrepreneurs, nonprofits, civic leaders, and the Chamber of Commerce for the Signature Dinner series Marketing & Promotion Plan and execute advertising across social media, email, local media, and community channels Manage event listings, Facebook Events, and other promotional content Track results, gather feedback, and iterate on messaging to grow attendance across all events Event Operations Schedule, brief, and manage event staff for each event in the portfolio Oversee setup, operation, and teardown — including equipment coordination with Cosmic's team Manage admissions, handle payments, and enforce rules on event days Ensure a safe, clean, welcoming atmosphere appropriate to each event's audience Financial Oversight Develop and manage per-event budgets with the goal of growing net revenue over time Track income and expenses and report to Cosmic leadership Identify opportunities to grow revenue, increase efficiency, and launch new events sustainably Who You Are You're a natural connector and organizer who gets energy from bringing people together. You don't need someone to tell you what to do next — you see what needs to happen and you make it happen.
More specifically:
You have experience planning and executing events — parties, community events, markets, fundraisers, or similar You're highly organized and comfortable managing multiple moving pieces at once You're a strong communicator who can build relationships with venues, vendors, families, and kids alike You're comfortable with social media and basic digital marketing You're self-directed and entrepreneurial — you care about results, not just activity You genuinely care about Kingman and want your work to matter here You're physically available on event days, including setup and teardown Familiarity with or enthusiasm for children with special needs is a meaningful plus Experience with or interest in GellyBall, inflatables, or entertainment venues is a bonus Compensation We want you to be able to build with confidence, not desperation. This role offers a hybrid structure: a modest guaranteed base retainer to establish stability, plus commission and performance bonuses tied directly to event revenue. As the portfolio grows, so does your income.
Components Base Retainer:
A modest guaranteed floor — enough to establish reliability, not a ceiling
Event Commission:
An increasing percentage of net income from each event you manage
Growth Bonus:
Additional upside tied to attendance milestones and new event launches This structure will be reviewed collaboratively and scales as the portfolio grows. Exact figures will be established collaboratively based on experience and mutual fit. Independent contractor or W2 options may be available. Candidates who come with ideas — about how to grow attendance, structure events, or develop new revenue streams — will stand out. Why This Work Matters Every event in this portfolio serves the same north star: making Kingman a better place to raise a family. First Friday builds community and visibility. CBHI gives kids a place to play and parents a place to breathe. GellyBall events give teens and adults a reason to gather. The Signature Dinners gather the people trying to make Kingman great — and remind them they aren't doing it alone. And through a potential partnership with the Kingman Area Chamber of Commerce, this role could grow into something that shapes the entire landscape of community events in Kingman — not just Cosmic's. Cosmic is more than an inflatable rental company. We are a force for good in this community — and we take that seriously. The Community Events Director is one of the most visible expressions of that commitment. If that resonates with you, we want to meet you. How to Apply (the shortcut) Learn more about our events and our mission at CosmicBounceHouse.com/Employment.
