Events and Outreach Coordinator

Overview KVMR is a mission-driven, multimedia organization serving an audience through two radio stations across 14 counties in Northern California. KVMR provides community members opportunities to connect through the development and production of music, news, and public affairs programs that entertain, inform, and educate.

Job Summary:

This position of Events and Outreach Coordinator oversees "KVMR Presents" and all special events including development, promotion, and planning for all aspects of KVMR's internal and external events and fundraisers including production of our signature annual event -The KVMR Celtic Festival and Marketplace. This position will work with promotors, festival and live broadcast producers as well as local venues to highlight community events on KVMR's web, social media and radio platforms.

Job Duties:

Oversees all aspects of KVMR events, working closely with volunteer, programming and membership departments to recommend, develop and plan events that help support collective strategies, fundraising and outreach goals. Develops and oversees events budgets, reviews proposals for cost and profitability, and coordinates with business sponsorship and other departments as appropriate. Publishes and manages KVMR's weekly online and on-air event calendar. Conducts outreach with community organizations and individuals for potential partnered events and KVMR benefits. Oversees production, budget and branding for The KVMR Celtic Festival and Marketplace event including management and hiring of production teams, site inspections and walk-throughs, securing talent, equipment, catering, vendors, volunteers, ticketing and all contracting related to the event. Oversees production and promotion of KVMR live broadcasts, including management of production teams, set-up on-air scheduling and follow-up. Serves as a community ambassador through speaking engagements, moderating, or participating in panel discussions, and individual outreach. Requirements Proven experience in event planning or hospitality roles such as banquet management, restaurant operations, hotel services or fundraising events Strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure contracts with vendors and venues effectively Excellent marketing acumen with experience in event marketing strategies and promotional campaigns Exceptional customer service skills paired with outstanding communication abilities to engage diverse audiences Well-developed organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines Experience in budgeting, financial tracking, and resource allocation for large-scale events Knowledge of catering logistics, banquet setup, guest services, and hospitality standards Familiarity with event management software or tools is a plus Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as required for event schedules Join KVMR and KVMRx as the Events and Outreach Coordinator to bring vibrant community and station events to life!
