Account Management:
Leverage strong sales skills to provide substantial customer value and expertly manage events. Distinguish Balboa Bay Resort from competitors by crafting clear and compelling value propositions for customers and the organizations they represent. Actively collaborate with Group and Catering Sales, Visit Newport Beach, and Intermediaries to both nurture existing customer relationships and secure new business opportunities for the hotel. Develop, implement, and communicate a strategic business plan on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, specifically tailored to the designated market. Maintain a current and active pipeline of potential business opportunities that align with both short-term and long-term objectives for the designated market. Serve as the hotel's representative in all interactions related to sales with customers, encompassing the creation of business proposals and the execution of contracts.Prospecting and Negotiating:
Identify potential customers and tailor proposals to gain new and existing customers. Uncover the unique expectations of both the customer and business leaders to adapt sales approach. Identify and adapt to the dynamic changes in the market landscape, ensuring favorable outcomes for all parties involved. Conduct thorough research, actively solicit, and generate fresh leads for potential business opportunities by leveraging database research and proactive sales strategies. Engage in external sales activities that go beyond conventional boundaries, with the aim of identifying unmet needs, establishing meaningful relationships, and securing new business ventures. Skillfully negotiate contracts, ensuring terms that not only align with the financial objectives of the hotel but also reinforce positive relationships with our valued customers. Provide innovative solutions that not only accomplish the financial goals of the hotel but also safeguard those goals, fostering stronger and more enduring relationships with our clientele.Event Management:
Our Event Managers are the architects of unforgettable experiences, focusing on the seamless success of assigned events from start to finish. Meticulously prepare all event documentation, collaborating closely with our Resort departments and clients to ensure a consistently high level of service across pre-event, event, and post-event phases. With a sharp eye for opportunities, they maximize value by offering enhancements and upselling premium services, creating extraordinary events that leave a lasting impression. Join us in delivering exceptional experiences that define Balboa Bay Resort. Ensure flawless event execution by adhering to established procedures, focusing on precision in detailing and the preparation of banquet event orders. Innovate and create solutions for client event requests, guiding them from concept to realization while staying current with trends in event management and design. Identify opportunities for cross-selling and upselling services to enhance both the guest experience and total revenue potential. Manage expenses to ensure they align with the client's budget requirements, ensure timely receipt of scheduled deposits, and maintain the accuracy of the final billing.Required Qualifications:
One to two years of administrative experience. Previous Catering/Sales Coordinator experience in the hospitality industry is preferred. Strong customer service skills and displays a courteous, warm and professional manner at all times. Must possess excellent communications skills and effectively interact with all levels of employees, guests and vendors. Proven ability to work independently, as well as a part of a team. Well organized, outgoing, team-oriented and creative. Ability to work under pressure; must be able to multi-task and possess excellent follow-up skills. Ability to read, write, and understand English. Advanced computer skills including Word, Excel and Outlook Opera, Delphi FDC, ProposalPath and Cvent experience preferredPHYSICAL DEMANDS
