The Banquet and Events Staff is support for the many banquets and events held at the Victoria Club. They are expected to perform these duties and responsibilities regularly but is not limited to them. This position coincides within the scope of other positions such Runner, Busser, Server, and/or Host/Hostess. Duties and Responsibilities Understands banquet style service. Sets up the side stations and perform assigned side work. Performs related dining room set up tasks. Attends Pre-meal meetings (15minutes prior to service) Takes food and beverage orders (to include alcoholic beverages) using Club standard procedures. Serves meal and beverage orders (to include alcoholic beverages) using Club standard procedures. Turns orders into kitchen and relays any special cooking instructions. Removes soiled dishes. Keep tables clean of any unnecessary items, plates, glassware. Maintains a strong presence on the floor. Closely monitors guests dining experiences to ensure member satisfaction. Handles all member charges using club standard procedures. Keeps tables and dining room in impeccable condition. Performs reasonable amounts of production in specified time. Possesses ability to perform all jobs in the front of the house to a superior level of quality. Informs the Banquet Captain, Dining Room Manager, or Event Coordinator of any problems that may arise with either food service, or beverage service. Performs clean-up and closing duties as assigned by Manager. Assists in re-setting Main Dining Room, or any Banquet Rooms. Communicates efficiently and courteously with guests and their concerns or special requests. Must be able to communicate in English, both written and spoken. Adheres to Victoria Clubs' dress code and uniform standards. Must be able to move around the entire Club, utilizing stairs, elevators, paths, and golf-carts. Required Qualifications Previous banquet serving experience. Previous Bartending experience. Strong customer service and guest relations skills. Knowledge of food safety and handling procedures. Experience in catering and food service environments. Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting. Familiarity with hospitality industry standards and practices. Culinary experience is a plus. Certifications Food Handler's or SERVSafe Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) is a plus.
