DESCRIPTION UC
San Diego Temporary Employment Services is seeking candidates with event planning and coordination experience to support a variety of campus and Health Sciences events. These temporary roles are well suited for individuals at the entry or associate level looking to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This role will assist with the planning and execution of events such as symposiums, conferences, workshops, research programs, advisory board meetings, and VIP engagements. Responsibilities include supporting event logistics, coordinating with campus partners and vendors (facilities, catering, media services, transportation), and ensuring event spaces are set up according to specifications. Will also provide on-site support during events, assist with audiovisual and virtual meeting needs (e.g., Zoom), and help track and report event data such as attendance, costs, and participant feedback.   • and large-scale events, including exposure to basic budgeting concepts.
These positions offer valuable experience in event operations and an opportunity to contribute to a wide range of campus activities.

QUALIFICATIONS
Basic experience in planning, designing, marketing, and organizing professional events. Experience setting up and cleaning up events. Good organizational skills to effectively manage calendars and schedules for events, as well as student and / or volunteer scheduling. Ability to provide customer service to clients, customers, and/or coworkers. Experience using database programs such as Excel, to create databases, complete data entry, and keep track of information. Knowledge of concepts and principles of effective event planning and production and public relations. Must have access to transportation to pick up supplies and attend events at UC San Diego as well as other locations in San Diego.
