Job Description

Volunteer and Event Coordinator (VEC) This role assists our organization with volunteer programs, planning events and helping to post to social media. This role is 40 hours a week with weekends required. This role will be handling animals few and far in between but still carries a risk for zoonotic diseases. Responsibilities Coordinate volunteer recruitment and training efforts to ensure a well-prepared team. Supervise volunteers during events, providing guidance and support as needed. Engage in public speaking to promote events and recruit new volunteers. Utilize Gmail, Volgistics, and Sling for tracking volunteer participation and event planning. Training provided. Handle animals responsibly during events, ensuring their safety and well-being. Qualifications Willingness to learn volunteer management and recruitment Strong public speaking and communication skills Experience in coordinating teams and events Knowledge of social media management and leadership in community engagement Experience in animal handling is a plus
