Job Description
Programs Manager Full Time / Exempt Join the team at Alaqua Animal Refuge as our Programs Manager and help create unforgettable experiences that inspire compassion, connection, and community. This exciting role is perfect for someone who thrives on creativity, loves working with children and families, and is passionate about animal welfare. From magical children's birthday parties and interactive educational tours to meaningful wellness experiences that celebrate the healing bond between people and animals, no two days are ever the same at Alaqua. As the Programs Manager, you will bring Alaqua's mission to life through engaging onsite experiences that educate, inspire, and create lasting memories for guests of all ages. You'll oversee the planning and execution of children's parties, school and group tours. We're looking for an energetic, organized, and people-focused professional who can manage multiple events with enthusiasm and attention to detail while delivering exceptional guest experiences.
What You'll Do:
Plan and coordinate children's birthday parties, educational tours for our school aged Humane Heroes program and group tours. Create fun, engaging, and mission-driven experiences for guests of all ages Educate visitors about Alaqua's rescue efforts, animal care programs, and community impact Coordinate schedules, vendors, supplies, and event logistics to ensure seamless execution Assist with onsite and offsite events and serve as a welcoming ambassador for Alaqua Collaborate with staff, volunteers, and community partners to grow programs and attendance Ensure all activities are conducted safely and professionallyQualifications:
Previous experience in event planning, hospitality, education, recreation, or program coordination Experience working with children, families, or educational groups preferred Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills Strong communication and customer service abilities Creative, upbeat, and detail-oriented personality Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends Knowledge of safety practices related to children's programming and events Bachelor's degree in event management, hospitality, education, or a related field preferredWhy You'll Love This Role:
