Development Associate:
Events Coordinator Maui Arts & Cultural Center Are you a passionate, creative event-maker who loves bringing people together for a great cause? The MACC is looking for a dynamic Events Coordinator to join our Development team and play a central role in one of Maui's most beloved cultural institutions. This is your chance to craft unforgettable experiences — from glamorous fundraising galas to intimate donor celebrations — while making a real difference in the lives of more than 240,000 community members each year. About the Role As our Events Coordinator, you'll be the engine behind the MACC's signature fundraising and cultivation events. You'll dream up and execute experiences that inspire generosity, deepen community connections, and fuel the MACC's mission to keep the arts thriving on Maui. You'll work alongside a passionate team, collaborate with top local chefs, entertainers, and sponsors, and help shape the future of the arts in our island home. What You'll Do Cultivation, Events & Fundraisers Design and execute high-impact fundraising events that drive the Development Department's goals and leave guests talking for years Create inspiring cultivation events that make donors feel celebrated, connected, and excited to continue supporting the MACC — while drawing in new supporters Champion timely, thoughtful follow-up and donor acknowledgment after every event Lead and grow a signature portfolio of events including Maui Calls , Maui Brewers Festival , Maile Reception , Gallery Fulfillment events , and CenterStage dining — plus exciting new events you'll help create Energize and guide committee members for Maui Calls and Brewers Festival, running productive meetings and recruiting fresh talent to the team Partner with the Marketing Department to build creative marketing plans for each event and bring bold new ideas for public engagement Coordinate seamlessly with the Operations team to bring every event detail to life Build and manage the annual events calendar and keep the Development team updated with weekly progress reports Champion inclusivity by developing events that reach new and underserved donor demographics Stay ahead of the curve by researching emerging trends in fundraising events and sharing fresh insights with the team Actively attend other organizations' events as part of ongoing professional growth Sponsorships Nurture strong, lasting relationships with current sponsors while actively pursuing exciting new partnerships Ensure all sponsorship benefits — including print and digital recognition — are delivered with excellence Collaborate with the President & CEO, Executive VP, and Development Director to identify and cultivate new sponsors Develop compelling sponsorship packages and keep agreements current Website Review website content and recommend updates that keep the MACC's online presence fresh and engaging Research best practices and build action plans to continually elevate the digital experience Special Projects Lead the annual fundraising appeal from creative concept through production and mailing Take on special projects that advance the MACC's mission as they arise What You Bring A positive, professional presence and a true team-player spirit Warmth and graciousness with donors, volunteers, colleagues, and community members Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and donor database software (Tessitura experience a plus) Exceptional written and verbal communication skills Grace under pressure and a talent for meeting deadlines Unwavering discretion with sensitive donor information Flexibility to work evenings and weekends when events call for it Qualifications Bachelor's degree required; experience in development, fundraising, or event management strongly preferred.
