Position Overview:
The Athletic Events Support Manager primarily focuses on the planning and execution of events in multi-use facilities, with a focus on athletic events. The individual is responsible for assisting clients by providing advance planning support, coordinating and arranging resources, providing quotes and invoices and playing a key role in the day of execution. This position plays a key role in establishing and strengthening relationships with on campus and off campus stakeholders through providing exemplary customer service.Required Experience:
Two years of progressive experience in event planning Experience using common office computer applications including word-processing, spreadsheet, email, and browser applicationsRequired Education:
High School Diploma or equivalentRequired Other:
Required to work non-standard schedule as needed to meet business needs of the office Valid Drivers License and ability to meet the University of Idahos driving requirements Must have flexibility in schedule to work nights and weekends (when events take place)Additional Preferred:
Bachelors degree in Sports Management, Business Management, or 4 or more years of athletics management experiences, with a focus on event operations Ability to: Communicate effectively in oral and in written communication Apply budgetary and fiscal planning techniques within financial constraints Plan, direct, and evaluate a complex operation, using staffing power, time, funds, and other resources for the accomplishment of organizational policies, activities and long-term and short-term goals of the organization Work effectively with internal constituents, particularly coaching staff, senior staff and other University staff Prioritize unplanned but required duties with ongoing confirmed deadlines, be able to work under stressful situations and manage stress appropriately Experience in: Interpreting and applying laws, rules and regulations, developing security systems and safety programs Developing, establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, administrators, and public, private, and governmental offices and agenciesPhysical Requirements & Working Conditions:
Ability to move about and between event locations for extended periods of time up to a full day of work Ability to lift, carry and/or otherwise move up to 70 lbsDegree Requirement:
