Job Description

The Event Supervisor is the first to arrive and last to leave for each event. They are expected to provide direction to event staff to guarantee proper set up, service and break down as they relate to catering food service. The Event Supervisor oversees events at both offsite venues as well as at Lula Cafe's private event venue, LOULOU. Hours will vary based on the event calendar.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Attend a weekly events meeting with the Events team to go over the upcoming week's event schedule including venue details, dinner service, staffing and overall event execution, setup and breakdown. The Event Supervisor is expected to have a full understanding of the event setup upon arrival at the venue. Supervise all Lula Cafe event hourly staff at offsite events from setup to breakdown, ensuring Lula service standards are being carried out throughout the entirety of the event. The Event Supervisor is responsible for tracking all staff hours, making cuts if deemed necessary during the end of the evening and making in-the-moment decisions on how to handle issues that may arise during an event. Serve as point of contact for both the venue manager as well as the client throughout the event. The Event Supervisor is expected to follow the previously agreed upon timeline while also accounting for shifts due to extended toasts, last minute changes, etc. They will be in communication with the event coordinator, venue manager or DJ to ensure the event runs smoothly. Assist the catering team with setup for weddings and events including organizing venue spaces according to floorplans and creating an efficient porter area and kitchen layout, checking in rentals, overseeing bar setup, etc. Assist with load out and load in -The Event Supervisor works with the Operations Manager to ensure that all items needed for the event were brought to the event and returned to their proper location at the end of the event. Confirming BEO details and all rental orders with the Event management team. Keeping track of/report payroll hours for hourly staff at the conclusion of each event. Attending offsite walkthroughs as needed. Providing overall support of catering and event tasks as needed by the Event management team. When needed, assist with printing and gathering all materials and supplies for drop off catering orders. Ability to drive your own vehicle or catering van as needed. Prioritizing hospitality and professionalism when interacting with all clients and vendors. Qualifications Flexible availability on nights and weekends Prior supervisory experience with strong leadership skills Organized and able to juggle multiple tasks 2 or more years experience in the catering/events or service industry A valid driver's license Comfortable with being on your feet for 8 or more hours (a typical wedding shift is 10 hours in length) Ability to lift and move objects up to 40lbs
