Description Company Summary:
The International Code Council is the leading global source of model codes, standards, and building safety solutions. This includes product evaluation, accreditation, technology, training, and certification. ICC Codes, Standards, and solutions are used to ensure safe, affordable, and sustainable communities and buildings worldwide. Position Summary:
The Events and Meetings Intern provides essential administrative and logistical support for the planning and execution of conferences, meetings, and corporate events. This role offers hands-on experience in the end-to-end event management process, from initial research and vendor coordination to on-site execution and post-event analysis.
Requirements Essential Functions:
Assist in researching and securing venues, vendors, and catering services for upcoming events. Support the creation and management of event registration pages, tracking attendee lists, and managing communications. Coordinate the shipping, receiving, and tracking of event materials, merchandise, and signage.
Secondary Functions:
Maintain and update event databases and track spreadsheets. Collaborate with the marketing team to proofread and distribute event materials and communications. Perform general administrative duties to support the broader meetings and events of the team as needed.
Essential Skills and Education/Experience:
Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a degree program in Event Management, Communications, Hospitality, Marketing, or a related field. Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer-focused attitude. Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and eagerness to learn event management software.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer or desk Occasional standing, walking, and reaching. Ability to access files or office supplies Manual dexterity for typing, filing, and handling office equipment Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds occasionally (e.g., office supplies, document) Visual acuity to read printed and digital materials? Auditory ability to communicate effectively in person and over the phone May need to climb stairs in multi-level office building

Indoor Office Environment Must be able to work in standard office environment with artificial lighting and climate control
