Job Description

Principal Function:
The Special Events Coordinator is responsible for supporting the F&B Manager in concessions operations. This position is responsible for setup & teardown of temporary points of sale for festivals and events, managing stock/equipment for each point-of-sale menu and directing support staff. Additional tasks include receiving orders, rotating stock and maintaining clean organized workspaces.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties include, but are not limited to: Complies with all health and safety regulations and educates support staff accordingly. Monitors and maintains all Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) standards. Sets up and tears down events and maintains the equipment storage areas. Oversees staff and volunteers during festivals and special events. Manages all Point-of-Sale operations and reporting during festivals and special events. Responsible for cash handling, balancing and accounting deposits. Trains staff on appropriate customer interaction. Addresses customer satisfaction concerns as necessary. Receives deliveries and ensures all products are rotated first in first out (FIFO). Monitors supply quality and limits waste. Works in Concessions (Cafe on the Commons) as needed, typically during spring.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Oversees employees and volunteers for each event. Employee carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience in food service, banquets or catering is required. Previous supervisory/team lead experience is desired. Previous experience working in the museum and/or entertainment park industry is desired.

Computer software skills required include:
Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with Micros POS software is desired. A working knowledge of health and safety regulations is required. ServSafe certification is required. Liquor license is required. ServSafe Food Handler Certification is required. A knowledge of creativity designing menus and purchasing goods is required. The ability to resolve customer complaints in an efficient and expeditious manner is required. The ability to use a cash register is required. The ability to operate a computer, printer, copy machine, scanner, fax machine, and other office equipment is required. The ability to speak, read and write in English is required. Spanish is desired.

Conner Prairie is generally open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday, this position will require work beyond these hours when open for special events.
