Customer Experience Crew Member Mission Parks & Recreation - Powell Community Center Mission, KS Job Details Part-time $13 - $16 an hour 19 hours ago Benefits Employee discount Qualifications Guest relations Customer service First aid High school diploma or GED Mopping Waste removal Full Job Description Position Summary The PCC Customer Experience Crew Member is a part-time role at Powell Community Center in Mission for someone who is dependable, proactive, and takes pride in creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. Depending on the shift, Crew Members support front desk operations, assist patrons, monitor the facility, prepare spaces for programs and events, and help keep the building running smoothly. This is a flexible, hands-on role for someone who stays busy, solves problems, and steps in where needed. Crew Members play an important role in the daily experience of everyone who walks through the building. Essential Functions Serve as a welcoming first point of contact for patrons—at the front desk, on the floor, or anywhere in the building Process memberships, class registrations, reservations, and point-of-sale transactions accurately and efficiently Answer phones and respond to patron inquiries with accurate, helpful information Provide tours of the facility to prospective and current members as needed Rotate through all areas of the building each shift, monitoring patron activity and ensuring safe, appropriate use of spaces and equipment Maintain facility cleanliness throughout your shift: sweeping, mopping, wiping equipment, emptying trash, restocking supplies, and cleaning common areas Set up and break down rooms for rentals, events, and programs; monitor events in progress and assist patrons as needed Operate audio/visual systems in conference rooms, fitness spaces, and event areas Handle cash, reconcile drawers, and follow all financial controls and security procedures Respond to patron concerns and complaints with professionalism and sound judgment; resolve conflicts and enforce facility policies as needed Respond to on-site injuries and incidents; serve as a point of contact for emergency responders Inspect equipment throughout each shift and report maintenance needs to the appropriate supervisor Support instructors, staff, and management during high-traffic periods, special events, and emergencies Follow all department policies, safety protocols, and applicable regulations Marginal Functions Assist with special events, membership drives, or facility projects as needed Attend department meetings and trainings Perform additional duties as assigned
Position Requirements Experience:
Six months of related experience preferred. Employees are expected to perform the job competently within three months. PCC will provide full training.Education:
High school diploma or GED preferred.Certification:
American Red Cross First Aid/AED/CPR certification required within six months of hire.Skills:
Strong communication and customer service skills. Comfortable working independently and as part of a team. Able to read and interpret written instructions and procedures.Problem Solving:
Sound judgment in resolving patron concerns, enforcing policies, responding to emergencies, and managing daily operations safely and efficiently. Supervision Works under the general supervision of the PCC Management Team. Does not exercise supervisory responsibilities over other personnel. Physical Requirements This position requires light to moderate physical labor throughout each shift, including: Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds Extended periods of standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching Operation of departmental equipment Working Conditions The environment ranges from quiet to active and includes customer-facing interactions, physical setup and cleaning tasks, and high-demand situations such as events and emergencies. Some exposure to cleaning chemicals and potentially adverse conditions should be expected.
