Description to follow. The (VENUE) is an award-winning, uniquely designed reception hall. The Venue takes pride in making all events picture-perfect while including unforgettable world-class service. For over 3 decades (VENUE) has been a place for friends and loved ones to gather while enjoying our signature New Orleans-style cuisine and sharing memories of a lifetime. Duties will require fine details to attention, seamless integration, and concentration in providing client(s) plan their special event from day one to the end of the event. The position requires working events on weekends. You will handle, day-to-day tasks that will include strong communication skills, one-on-one communication with the client(s), vendors, answering telephone calls and questions from clients planning their event, showing potential clients the venue, responding to and answering emails, and updating social media posts daily. The (VENUE) is open Monday-Friday from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM. During the week, we show potential clients the venue and botanical gardens. The event coordinator will oversee weddings and staff to ensure everything runs accordingly. The ideal candidate must work under high-pressure situations and show leadership skills. The ideal applicant will manage and lead a team of staff members in delivering top-notch service and hospitality at one of the top-rated wedding venues in the New Orleans Metropolitan area. You will be responsible for maintaining service standards and best practices in a high-volume environment for creating an extraordinary client and guest experience. Expansion of Duties:
Knowing our full menu and what is included in our inclusive package. Oversee, execute, and manage events. Going over contractual agreements with clients. Filing away contracts and vendor invoices. Establish contact with the primary client(s) and vendors for the event
  • review paperwork, special requests, and expectations with staff and the kitchen team. Uphold décor standards of client and for events
  • including, but not limited to, buffets, small wares, glassware, props, lighting, flowers, colors, etc. Create staff schedules and confirm with staff the events they are working on
  • assure staff is assigned duties for the event and ensure prompt arrival time team and everyone is dressed in proper uniform. Daily Tours / Event Setup
  • Walk all event grounds and gardens and ensure the room is set up and ready to go as per client(s) preferences.
For example, the placement of tables, providing correct linens, and ceremony and reception enhancements are placed out and accurate.
What we need from you:
Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience 2+ Years of Catering and/or Hotel Banquet Management Client Management in a high-profile setting is a plus Strong Computer Skills (we utilize Filemaker database on Macs, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Adobe) Servsafe Responsible Vendors card and knowledge of LA State Labor Laws What you'll get from us: Salary (to be discussed in person) Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana Medical Insurance Paid Time off 7 days
  • after 1 year of employment Paid sick leave: 5 days after 1 year of employment Paid time off & sick leave days cannot be accumulated year after year.
The above represents the expected salary range for this position. Ultimately, we'll consider your experience and other job-related factors in determining your pay.
