Overview:
Samuels & Associates is seeking a dynamic Programming & Events Manager to lead the strategy, planning, and execution of all programming and activations at Time Out Market Boston. As S&A enters a new chapter of ownership and operational leadership, programming will play a critical role in revitalizing the Market, increasing foot traffic, strengthening vendor sales performance, and reinforcing the Market's position as a cultural anchor in The Fenway. The Programming & Events Manager serves as the central production lead, interfacing across Marketing, FOH, BOH, bar leadership, security, facilities, vendors, and talent. This individual will oversee the full lifecycle of programming from concept through post-event reconciliation, ensuring world-class execution in a complex, hospitality-driven setting. The ideal candidate has 5-8 years of experience in hospitality-driven event production, thrives in fast-paced and guest-facing environments, and is passionate about building community through live experiences.
Core Responsibilities:
Programming Strategy & Hospitality integration
  • Develop and manage an annual programming calendar aligned with traffic-driving, revenue, and vendor performance objectives
  • Concept event series and programs that complement the culinary environment (chef collaborations, tasting events, beverage launches, live music, cultural moments, watch parties, art exhibitions, retail pop-ups, wellness series. etc.)
  • Ensure programming is operationally viable within a live restaurant setting
  • Collaborate with Operations leadership to align programming with peak hours, staffing, and service capacity
  • Reinforce that all programming supports F&B sales, guest flow, and overall market performance Event Execution & Onsite Leadership
  • Serve as the primary operational lead during all programming
  • Maintain a visible, professional, hospitality-forward presence
  • Orchestrate coordination between: o Culinary vendors o Central bars o FOH teams o Security and facilities o External vendors and talent
  • Oversee vendor load-in/load-out and ensure setup aligns with approved floorplans
  • Adjust room layout and staging to meet brand and operational standards
  • Ensure events begin and conclude on schedule
  • Oversee A/V coordination and technical requirements
  • Coordinate signage, rentals, and event material
  • Protect guest experience while balancing ongoing restaurant service Vendor & Talent Management
  • Act as primary point of contact for programming partners and third-party vendors
  • Reinforce service standards with all external partners
  • Manage production communications across multiple channels to ensure clarity and accountability
  • Build a vetted network of local performers, DJs, chefs, instructors, and rental partners Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Collaborate with Market vendors to develop programming that drives sales and engagement
  • Partner closely with Marketing to align promotional strategy, social content, paid media, and creative needs
  • Work with Operations to ensure event feasibility and staffing alignment
  • Coordinate with Finance for budget tracking and invoicing Performance Tracking & Reporting
  • Track attendance, expenses, and vendor sales impact
  • Analyze programming ROI and recommend adjustments
  • Compile post-event recaps and performance summaries
  • Maintain a master programming calendar and reporting dashboard
  • Contribute programming metrics to monthly marketing and asset management reporting
Skills & Qualifications:
  • 5-8 years of experience in event production, hospitality programming, experiential marketing, or venue management
  • Strong hospitality background (restaurant group, hotel, private club, cultural venue preferred)
  • Proven experience managing high-volume event calendars
  • Experience building BEOs and managing event management software
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and vendor contracts
  • Experience coordinating A/V and live production elements
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills
  • Comfortable working evenings and weekends regularly
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and assist with light event setup as needed
