Recognized for its historic charm and rich heritage, the hotel offers a vibrant setting for events and gatherings, featuring elegant function spaces, renowned restaurants, and a welcoming atmosphere that celebrates local culture and hospitality. Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Banquet Coordinator who can confidently lead events, manage staff, and deliver exceptional guest experiences from start to finish. This is not an entry-level position . We are looking for a seasoned hospitality professional who can walk into a room, take command, and ensure flawless execution. The Banquet Coordinator serves as the on-site leader for weddings, social events, and corporate functions. This role bridges event planning and operational execution, translating detailed plans into seamless, memorable experiences for our guests. You must thrive in a fast-paced environment, anticipate needs before they arise, and maintain calm authority while directing banquet teams and interacting with clients. Key Responsibilities Oversee execution of all banquet and catered events from setup through breakdown Read, interpret, and execute Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) with precision Lead banquet staff with professionalism, confidence, and clear direction Command event spaces and ensure service standards are upheld at all times Act as primary on-site contact for clients and vendors Coordinate closely with culinary, sales, and operations teams Ensure proper room setups, timing of service, and event flow Maintain exceptional attention to detail and presentation standards Troubleshoot issues quickly and discreetly while maintaining guest satisfaction Uphold the reputation and historic character of the property Qualifications Minimum 3-5 years banquet or event operations experience required Prior hotel or full-service event venue experience strongly preferred Demonstrated leadership presence Extensive familiarity with BEOs and event execution logistics Strong organizational and communication skills Polished, professional demeanor with natural charisma Ability to multitask and remain composed under pressure Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays Self-directed professional who requires minimal supervision Schedule This position requires a varied schedule , including nights, weekends, and holidays based on event business. The Hawthorne offers free on-site parking, cafeteria-style meals, and discounts on room stays at our sister properties.
Pay:
$19.00 - $23.00 per hour
