Special Events Coordinator Description:
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe essential function or duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment to the position. Under the direction fo the AIC Manager, serve as a special events coordinator who will plan, execute and manage special events held at the building, acting as a resource to buildmunity. Responsible for planning, coordination and running three major events a year: Handmade Holiday Market, Teen Craft Market and Spring Market. Also responsible for planning, coordination and running smaller events such as Celebrate Weston, Community Craft Swap and the monthly Teen Open Mic Night. T will be the other events throughout the year that will need planning and coordination. Manage the day-to-day operations of the AIC. patrons who have questions and point them in the right direction, answer the phone, give impromptu tours, etc. Will be required to update spreadsheets, post on social media and send out marketing material. Maintain a clean andanized working environment. Work on special events as deemed necessary to promote involvement by themunity. Develop specialty programming that will encourage participation and involvement. Assist in paperwork, statistics tracking and reporting, project management. Keep an eye on the emerging events and rmend new specialty programs/events. Execute other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school graduate, Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Knowledge and experience with event management,munity engagement andmunity building is desirable. Knowledge, Ability and Skill Some experience working in special events. Clear, thoughtful and timelymunication and feedback; displaying and reinforcing appropriate behavior, initiative, and sound judgement. A positive, helpful attitude is necessary. Must be flexible, dependable, and able to work with minimal supervision. Regular night and weekend hours are required. Physical Requirements The physical demands listed are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Regularly lifts and/or moves up to 30 pounds. Vision requirements include color vision and the ability to read documents for general understanding or analysis, and use aputer. Work Environment The work environment characteristics described are representative of those that the employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee is required to work in a building which may have noise from groups of people and equipment being operated, fabrication dust, and strong smells from art materials.
