Based on experience About the Role Rye Venue Management is hiring a full-time Venue Manager to oversee a wedding and event venue in Auburn Hills, Michigan. This is a hands-on role for someone who is organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable being the main local point person for the venue. The role combines venue operations, client planning support, vendor communication, staff scheduling, event preparation, and onsite problem-solving. Key ResponsibilitiesVenue Operations, Vendors & Event Staff Oversee the day-to-day readiness and operation of the venue Complete regular walkthroughs for cleanliness, maintenance, safety, and presentation Coordinate maintenance, repairs, inspections, HVAC scheduling, and service appointments Communicate with cleaning, lawn care, snow removal, trash, and maintenance vendors Schedule event execution staff based on event needs Communicate event details and expectations to staff Be the first line of support for staff call-offs, no-shows, or last-minute coverage needs Step in and assist with event execution when needed Report venue issues clearly and promptly to company leadership Event Planning & Client Coordination Serve as the main planning contact for booked clients Gather event details, timelines, layouts, vendor information, and client preferences Organize planning information accurately in company systems Prepare complete event details for event execution staff Communicate clearly with clients and vendors leading up to events Identify missing information, conflicts, or event-day concerns before they become problems Support clients while maintaining company policies and venue standards What We Are Looking For The ideal candidate is: Highly organized, dependable, and detail-oriented Comfortable working independently without constant supervision Strong at follow-through and problem-solving Calm under pressure and able to manage last-minute changes Comfortable communicating with clients, staff, and vendors Able to balance hospitality with accountability Comfortable with both office/admin work and hands-on venue needs Someone who notices details other people miss Someone who takes pride in keeping a venue clean, organized, and functional Someone who is willing to jump in when something needs to get done Local to Auburn Hills or the surrounding area Available for evenings and weekends based on the event schedule Required Qualifications Experience in event operations, venue management, hospitality, property management, facilities coordination, or a related field Strong communication and organization skills Ability to manage multiple details, deadlines, and priorities at once Comfortable using email, calendars, spreadsheets, and event management or CRM systems Ability to work evenings and weekends based on event needs Reliable transportation Ability to be onsite in Auburn Hills regularly and respond to venue needs in a timely manner About Rye Venue Management Rye Venue Management operates wedding and event venues with a focus on strong systems, clear communication, disciplined operations, and exceptional client and guest experiences.
