Event Coordinator

We are Rockhound Rock Shop - Michigan's Largest Rock Shop located in Galesburg, Michigan. We own the main rock shop, the Trading Post out behind the main shop, the Old Mill House also out in the Trading Post, Creaky Floor Bookstore located inside the main rock shop and Prospector's Cook House across the street from the main store. GreatLakesGeneralStore.com We are looking for an individual to coordinate our classes, birthday parties and events at our stores and restaurant as well as customer service; helping people check out at the front counters. This is a fun position because it is ever changing and it jumps around to the different locations, so no day is ever the same. Plus, you are dealing with people that are excited and happy to visit our stores and host an event here. You should be upbeat, outgoing, organized and able to track many different dates for many different activities each month.

You will do things like:

help clients book their events or classes arrange the entertainment or food they wish to have at their event or class work with instructors to make sure they are reporting their activities and getting paid help us recruit new class instructors help with putting on annual festivals making calls and getting estimates for rentals and materials needed help come up with new class ideas make sure everything is set-up and ready on event/class days market and social media posts to help attract for bookings help people check out at the point of sale or retrieve an item from a locked case We strive to make a professional yet enjoyable environment for everyone, I mean, you would be working at a rock shop after all?!?
