We are located 43 miles up the Gunflint Trail, a one hour drive from the nearest town of Grand Marais, Minnesota. Since 1925, our guests have visited us from all over the world to relax, recreate, and explore the Northwoods. They visit us for annual vacations, weekend getaways, weddings & elopements, family reunions, canoe outfitting into the Boundary Waters, our plethora of on-site activities, and annual trips decades in the making. At Gunflint Lodge & Outfitters, we create lifelong memories to our guests who love the outdoors! We are seeking a highly organized and creative Marketing and Event Coordinator to plan and execute successful weddings and events. You may also assist guests at our front desk, proactively upsell experiences to help guests plan memorable vacations and help out with back office marketing and revenue management tasks. The ideal candidate will have a passion for event planning and marketing, with strong project management skills and a careful eye for detail. What You'll Do Respond to wedding and event inquiries promptly and professionally Conduct site tours (in-person and virtual) for prospective clients Plan and coordinate events from booking through execution Manage vendor relationships (catering, florals, photography, decor, etc.) Serve as the on-site point person on event days Work front desk shifts and assist with back office tasks as needed Help build and improve our event processes and offerings What We're Looking For Experience in event coordination, hospitality, or a related field Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication Comfort managing multiple events at different stages simultaneously Genuine enthusiasm for creating memorable experiences Enjoy living and working in a remote, beautiful setting Qualifications 1-2 years event coordination, hospitality, or related experience Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills Comfort with technology — email, scheduling tools, spreadsheets, social media, Canva, etc. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Photoshop, and WordPress Ability to work weekends and evenings Degree in hospitality, event management, or related field preferred Experience with vendor management and budgeting Knowledge of social media platforms and analytics tools Associate or Bachelor's degree in marketing, event planning, hospitality management, or a related field preferred Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Photography and videography editing skills preferred Ability to officiate weddings or become certified to do so Ability to work independently and in a team environment Passion for creativity and attention to detail We offer a competitive salary, benefits package, and a once-in-a-lifetime work experience in the heart of the Northwoods.
